About Our School

Our School

We are a non-profit school for children 18 months to 5 years of Age. South Colby cooperative Preschool allows parents to work closely with their child, other parents and the teacher to foster a love for learning in a structured, caring and creative environment.

The Child's Journey

At SCCP children learn skills that will remain with them through structured and creative daily routines. They will do activities in public speaking, the arts, science, creative play, reading, writing, math, physical activities and American Sign Languaue in the afternoon pre-k class. Each child is given opportunities to "work" in the classroom to further his learning and every child's birthday or "special day" is celebrated, so no child is left out.

Cooperative Parents Role

An important part of joining the cooperative community is involvement at school. Each family  is required to work in the classroom (unless they are non co-op) as well as a hold a class job, participate in school fundraisers and activities and help clean the classroom once during the year. As a cooperative parent you will be part of a larger group working together for the betterment of the children and to support and help the teacher.

Snack Time

A snack is provided by a snack parent each day that school is in session. During this time, children are encouraged to use proper hygiene and good table manners also to try everything on their plates. The children will learn how to clean up after themselves. All class allergies are made aware at the start of the year.
