Hello there! I am Angela Saunders, the Frog, Ladybug and Monarch classes teacher. I love teaching kids and I am so happy to be a teacher at South Colby Cooperative Preschool. I started teaching in 2008 in various grades in Washington, Hawaii and South Carolina. I got my BA in Elementary Education with concentrations in Special Education and American Sign Language at Weber State University. I went to Weber on a full ride scholarship in basketball and also competed on the track team. Then went on to teach in South Carolina, Hawaii and came back home to Washington. Along with teaching, I have also coached basketball and track teams. I grew up going to school in the South Kitsap School District so I am really happy to be in my home town raising my children here. I took a break from teaching to be a stay at home mom with my two beautiful children. I love kids and I want to help them become life long learners and for them to believe in themselves because once they do that, the sky's the limit.
Hi my name is Rochelle Moffett and I am the assistant teacher to Miss Angela. I am super excited about teaching with her, as she is my sister and we have so much fun together. I am the mother to 5 amazing kids who I am beyond proud of and a grandma to the sweetest little boy. My husband and I have been married for 20 years and are avid Football fans, GO DAWGS and HAWKS! I have wanted to become a teacher since the 6th grade, when my then teacher Mr. Nelson inspired me to want to teach. I always wanted to do that for someone else. Being a stay at home mom was very important to me and my husband but now that all kids are in school or grown, I am ready to start my journey molding little minds and leaving lasting impressions.
Hello, my name is Tracy Sharp, and I am excited to join SCCP during the 2016-2017 year, teaching the Bumblebee class. My background includes: teaching pre-school at ABC Daycare, running a daycare out of my home, a full-time nanny, past VP of the Orchard Heights PTSO, and Para Educator. I cherished my time running the daycare out of my home, as it allowed me the flexibility to be home with my daughter, who is now 16 years old. I will be celebrating my 20th wedding anniversary with my (very supportive) husband, Hugh this year. We have 3 children: Ken, CJ, and Faith. I am a lifetime resident of Port Orchard, and love our community. I am also involved in Relay for Life. I have had various roles for the past 14 years, with the last 3 years as the Event Lead. Teaching children is my passion, and I look forward to this opportunity.
Bumblebee Class, Frog Class, Lady Bug Class and Butterfly Class: Our focus is emotional and social growth, encouraging and supporting children to have a voice... to be strong and independent both socially and emotionally. We teach academics and introduce concepts of reading, writing, math, art, physical activities, science and sign language in the afternoon PreK class. We do not believe preschool is a boot camp for kindergarten. We believe it is a safe environment for children to learn appropriate behaviors and began their academic journey with children's needs and interest in mind.
